Herbert has been a member of the ADC Fraternity since 1974. He was an advit community volunteer and ADC’s third president from Summer 1975 to Spring 1976. His community service started with ADC Fraternity and continued with his focus on track and field.
As Executive Director/Head Instructor with 44 years of Championship Experience “From Beginners to Olympians,” he has led the Herbert Johnson Field and Track Academy (HJTFA), 1976 – Present. He earned National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Certifications in Concussion in Sports, Sportsmanship, Sports Nutrition, and Engaging Effectively with Parents. Leads the HJTFA providing year-round sports training specializing in Track and Field Training and Sports Speed/Fitness (Football, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, and Rugby) in the USA and internationally.
Current Community Impact: Herbert led the HJTFA’s schools, athletes, coaches, and teams successfully in many areas of competition such as IAAF, USATF, NCAA, NAIA, TAC/AAU, NFHS, SCHSL, SCHSL, and SCISA (formerly SCISAA).
Goal: Continue to support and strengthen communities and individual’s success by offering track and field programs through the Herbert Johnson Track and Field Academy.
